In 2002 Sutter went on to play junior for two seasons in the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL) for the Powell River Kings. Sutter was named the team’s Rookie of the Year, Leading Scorer and MVP. From 2006-2009, Sutter continued playing professional hockey for the Amarillo Gorillas of the Central Hockey League (CHL). In 2009, Sutter was named the Central Hockey League's “Man of the Year” for his leadership and noteworthy community presence in the Texas Panhandle. Coaching/ Youth Hockey Career

Sutter’s coaching career started in 2009 when he was named the Assistant Coach for the Amarillo Gorillas. The following season, Sutter joined the expansion Amarillo Bulls of the North American Hockey League (NAHL). The Bulls have won an impressive (3) South Division Championships, they were named the 2012 NAHL “Organization of the Year”, and captured the 2013 National Championship (Robertson Cup). More impressively, the Bulls have placed over 60 players into NCAA College programs. Sutter continues to coach with the Amarillo Bulls as they head into their 6th season.

Sutter’s passion for youth hockey and player development began when he was a player. He donated his time coaching to the Amarillo Hockey Association (AHAI) while playing for the Gorillas. Sutter took over as the Program Director for AHAI in 2010. Under Sutter’s leadership, AHAI has gone from 35 participants to over 170. Each year AHAI grows at every age level from Learn to Play through Adult hockey.

Sutter resides in Amarillo, Texas with his wife Brandi and his son’s Brit, Brekon and Barron.
