Great opportunity to off-set your season fees...

RAFFLE TICKET OPPORTUNITY- OFF SET YOUR 2019-2020 FEES

We are very excited to announce that we will be continuing our raffle ticket program that helps families subsidies the cost to play hockey or figure skate. The Association used to offer scholarships to participants in need, or who couldn't afford to play. We decided to invest the scholarship budget into the raffle ticket program that now allows every member the chance to fund raise and off-set their cost to play winter sports. 100% of the tickets you sell- goes directly back to your fees.

Over the past years the raffle would run until mid November. This year the raffle will only last for 60 days. All raffle ticket sales must be turned in on or before AUGUST 14th, 2019. Once the tickets are turned in- you will receive a COUPON CODE to apply when you register. This will be a one-time code. Whatever money you raised will be applied to your fee at registration. The remaining balance will be broken up into automatic monthly payments, or you may choose to pay your remaining balance in full at registration. CREDITS WILL NOT BE APPLIED AFTER REGISTRATION.

Jaxen Andersen Selected to Play for Team Texas

By AHAI 03/22/2019, 12:45pm CDT

Andersen will represent Amarillo Hockey on the national stageā€¦

For the second consecutive season, a player from the Big Texan Bulls Varsity team was selected to Team Texas. Team Texas will participate in the heavily scouted America’s Showcase tournament April 11th-15th, 2019 in St. Louis, Mo.

The Showcase Tournament, is sponsored by USA Hockey and supported by the Texas Amateur Hockey Association (TAHA), is open to High School Juniors and Seniors from across the state who are currently playing high school hockey in Texas.

Andersen was the captain of the Bulls and had a career high season in every category. His league leading 36 points (14 goals and 22 assist) for a defenseman propelled him the win the Rio Grande High School Hockey League Defenseman of the Year award.

“I feel very fortunate to have the opportunity to represent Amarillo High School hockey at the Americas showcase tournament. We have a great hockey program in Amarillo, we are developing a lot of players and have a winning culture. Being selected to Team Texas wouldn’t be possible without all of my teammates and our great coaches.”, expresses Andersen.

“Amarillo Hockey places a major emphasis on proper development. The player must commit to the process and buy into becoming the best they can be on and off the ice. For a player to be good enough to play on the national stage they need to be dedicated off the ice. Jaxen did just that. His effort and attitude were excellent and his dedication and discipline to taking care of details on and off the ice everyday gave him this tremendous opportunity. There are no secrets to being successful. Its grinding it out and staying consistent. Jaxen serves as fine example to his peers and to the younger kids coming through our program that hard work and trusting in the process is the key to reaching your goals.” explains, Austin Sutter, who served as Jaxen’s coach for the past three seasons.

Amarillo Hockey is proud of Jaxen and wishes him and Team Texas the best as they travel to St. Louis in April.
