The Amarillo Hockey Association exists to provide a positive learning and maturing experience for young athletes in a youth hockey setting. In structuring these experiences, the Amarillo Hockey Association must lead by example, recognizing that these experiences may have a profound effect on the future attitudes, moral development and community involvement of these young people.
The intent of The Amarillo Hockey Association is to provide an opportunity to participate in a well-organized and structured hockey program. The qualities of sportsmanship and good citizenship will be promoted and the welfare, education and social development of the participants shall be the paramount objective.
AHAI is established to foster and develop organized amateur youth and adult ice sports at eight categories: Learn to skate, Learn to Play hockey, Recreation hockey, Elite/ Travel hockey, High School hockey, Adult Recreation hockey, Ice Skating, and Ice Dancing within the Texas Panhandle.
It is the obligation of any volunteer within the organization to set an example of honesty, integrity, fairness and trustworthiness for the young athlete.
It is AHAI’s duty to ensure the rights of the young athlete are met. It is imperative the rules and regulations of AHAI, Texas Amateur Hockey Association (TAHA) and USA Hockey’s (USAH) be adhered to at all times by the board of directors, coaches, parents, volunteers and all participants.
